Social Support Program

Dear Yazidi women, youth and elderly,

One of the purposes of the Shams Humanitarian NGO stated in its Charter, is “to achieve national and international co-operation in solving local problems of an economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian character.” The Organization is now relied upon by the international community to coordinate humanitarian relief operations because of the COVID-19 pandemic and war.

Since its beginning, the NGO has strived to reach as many children and elderly as possible with effective, low-cost solutions to counter the biggest threats to their survival. We also consistently urge the government and warring parties to act more effectively to protect children and elderly of minority groups.

Moreover, we provide relief to hundreds of people, who are the victims of the current challenges Armenia face. It is our responsibility to mobilize food and funds for and provide psychological support to the people in need now.

We strive for the empowerment and well-being of #Yazidi children, women and elderly, because only with powerful movement we can achieve sustainable changes and equality in our society where vulnerable people of minority groups will live in an inclusive environement and will not be deprived of their basic rights and freedoms.

Thus, we start a social support program with the funding of The German Marshall Fund of the United States and Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation. If you are affected by COVID-19, living in a difficult financial situation in Armenian villages or peripheries, please, contact as and we will provide you humanitarian assistance (food, hygiene materials and medecine equal to $80 per person for two months) starting from October 20.
